—The all-important basketball goals are up in the new Fifth Third Basketball Facility. Women’s basketball coach Oties Epps tweeted that his team will hold its first practice there on Wednesday. The men will practice there from day one, when official team practices start on Friday.

—UE’s men’s soccer team (6-4-0) opens Missouri Valley Conference play at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the road against Missouri State (5-3-3). Six of the Aces’ last seven matches have been all or nothing — three times they shut out opponents, and three times they were shut out, including last Saturday’s loss to Marshall. Live stats for UE-Missouri State will be available here.

—Harrison High School graduate and UE freshman Alex Turner tied for fourth overall, and the Aces men’s golf team finished fourth of five teams Tuesday at the Butler Invitational.

The UE women finished eighth of 11 teams in their trip to Butler. Freshman Paige Crafton led the Aces with a two-day score of 156.

Some big news broke late last night about Roberts Stadium, where UE played basketball from 1956-2011 before moving to the Ford Center. City officials are mulling what to do with the now-defunct building as estimated demolition costs rise.

—Senior Troy Taylor tweeted that he’s got an interview with ESPN The Magazine on Friday, so stay tuned for what comes out of that. Expect to see many similar tweets about interviews with the C&P before Thursday’s media day — maybe.
