After a stint with a Mexican professional team, former UE forward Denver Holmes signed this week with BBC Monthey in Switzerland.

Holmes previously averaged 14.7 points, 3.0 boards and 2.3 assists per game for the Tampico¬†Hurricanes¬†in Mexico. The club released Holmes, according to the team’s Facebook page, because it needed to sign a post player.

“He will be playing for one of the most traditional clubs (in Switzerland),” the Hurricanes’ Facebook page posted Monday. “All the best to Denver and BBC Monthey for a strong season.”

The 6-foot-4 Holmes, a Kansas native, earned all-Missouri Valley Conference honorable mention recognition as a senior at UE. He averaged 11.3 points per game, second behind Colt Ryan, and left known as a clutch shooter after his four-year career for the Aces.
