The day is finally here (and think say that again Oct. 18 for Hoopfest, Oct. 27 for the exhibition and Nov. 10 for the actual opener). But for now, enjoy, the start of official men’s basketball practices.

Per the beat writers for most programs, here’s how Missouri Valley Teams are handling the transition from little practice time per week to 20 hours (I’ll add an Indiana State link later if anything appears):

Des Moines Register:
VanDeest prepared to shoulder heavier load for Drake

Evansville Courier & Press: Aces talking Valley championship as practices start

Omaha World-Herald: Creighton officially ready to get to work

The Pantagraph: Illinois State set for first practice under new coach Muller

Peoria Journal Star: Competition for Bradley’s starting jobs should be fierce

The Southern: Saluki men finally reach official start of practice

Springfield News-Leader: Missouri State’s Pickens puts injuries behind him

Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier: Northern Iowa loads up on familiar faces

Wichita Eagle: Shockers start practice remembering keys to success
