The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, a scouting combine for 64 of the nation’s top senior men’s basketball players, announced its full rosters for the April 10-13 scouting combine Friday afternoon.
UE senior Colt Ryan will play on the “Portsmouth Sports Club” team alongside notables such as Butler’s Andrew Smith and Florida’s Mike Rosario. BYU’s Laurence Bowers, Oregon’s Arsalan Kazemi, Long Island’s Jamal Olasewere and Santa Clara’s Kevin Foster round out the eight-player team.
One of eight squads at the PIT, Portsmouth Sports Club will be coached by Mark Hall and Walt Webb.
The PIT fields 12 games over its four days, where both NBA and foreign scouts attend as players attempt to raise their profiles.
Ryan’s first game comes at 6 p.m. Thursday against a “Roger Brown’s Restaurant” team consisting of Indiana’s Christian Watford and Louisville’s Peyton Siva.
The tournament is bracketed with consolation rounds guaranteeing every player at least three games.
PIT alums include Jeremy Lin, Landry Fields and Steve Novak. Five players from the 2012 tournament are currently on NBA rosters.
