Samantha Heck will become the first University of Evansville women’s basketball player to play professionally since Rebekah Parker in 2008.

Heck attended a five-day tryout with TK Hannover in Germany earlier this month and improved head coach Roger Battersby with her performance, particularly during a scrimmage against a team that had players from Kansas, Harvard and Brown.

“It was such a great experience to travel to Germany and to get a chance to play with those girls,” Heck said.  “I’m eager to learn and play their style of basketball.  I feel that playing in Hannover is a great opportunity for my first year and I’m excited to see what my future holds with this team.”

Heck was a second-team  All-Missouri Valley Conference selection last season and finished her career with 1,300 points and 700 rebounds.
