—Oakland City University really likes playing UE — so much that coach Mike Sandifar rearranged his schedule so the Mighty Oaks play a game 24 hours before coming to Evansville to accomodate the Aces. Check out a preview for Tuesday’s game here.
—Senior Lewis Jones (sprained ankle) and sophomore Jordan Nelson (turf toe) have practiced the two days since UE’s Alabama State win and will be available against Oakland City.
—When UE plays Butler on Saturday, the Bulldogs will represent the second ranked Aces opponent this season. Butler used its overtime win against then-No. 1 Indiana to move into both the Associated Press poll (19th) and USA Today coaches poll (25th). Notre Dame was ranked 22nd when UE opened against the Irish.
—UE coach Marty Simmons looked ahead to that Butler matchup, and sophomore Rokas Cesnulevicius told a story about a trip to Wal-Mart with fellow Lithuanian on tonight’s radio show.
—UE athletic director John Stanley definitely said Monday that his school isn’t talking to the Horizon League about potential realignment. Creighton coach Doug McDermott added his opinion as well as MVC advocate and Southern Illinois coach Barry Hinson.
