—UE is 131st in the NCAA’s first official ratings percentage index released on Monday. The numbers don’t come as a surprise in this era of RPI simulators such as RealTimeRPI.com, which currently rates the Aces 128th.
—UE senior Troy Taylor is the Aces’ leading rebounder, grabbing 7.5 boards per game. But as a 6-foot point guard, he’s still 138th in the nation in the statistic. Every player ahead of Taylor is at least three inches taller than him, and fewer than 15 are listed as guards.
—Sophomore Mallory Ladd took Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday, becoming the first member of that team do so since Amy Gallagher on Dec. 30, 2009.
—ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has two MVC teams (Creighton and Wichita State) in his latest Bracketology, while SI.com’s Andy Glockner also sees Indiana State making the field.

—At least two Wichita State starters won’t be available when the Shockers come to the Ford Center on Sunday, reports beat writer Paul Suellentrop. Sophomore Evan Wessel will have season-ending surgery, and freshman Ron Baker doesn’t expect to be off crutches until the end of the month. Meanwhile, leading scorer and rebounder Carl Hall isn’t sure about his return, originally slated for the middle of this month.
