—The UE women tip at 15th-ranked Ohio State at 11 a.m. Saturday before the men go for their fifth straight win at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Colorado State. Look for updates on the games both on the blog and Twitter (@ECP_Lintner).
—The day before UE’s Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge game against Colorado State, the Albequerque Journal published a story that speculates about series’ future. While the MVC wants it to continue, the Mountain West may look for a new league to match up against that makes more geographic sense.

—While I wait for my own preview to go online, check out the always-hilarious, computer-generated StatSheet.com advance for Saturday’s UE-Colorado State game. It offers such “StatSmack!” as: “More violent crime happens per capita in Fort Collins so be careful if you visit (when compared to Evansville).”
—UE signee Blake Simmons scored 25 points and had nine rebounds Friday to keep Castle High School undefeated. That should be a recurring theme this season, and you can keep up with Simmons’ high school senior year here.
—I received a copy of the “Trophies and Tears”book about the history of UE basketball today and will run a story early next week with more. We’re also working with the publisher about possibly running an excerpt in the paper when the book hits store shelves mid-December.
—UE’s swimming and diving teams started competition Friday at the House of Champions in Indianapolis. The three-day meet is hosted by the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, which the Aces last swam against on Nov. 10.
—The UE men’s soccer team starts its seventh “Kick The Cold, Give A Coat” campaign on Monday.
—The Courier & Press’ University of Southern Indiana beat writer, Dan Korb, started a Screaming Eagles blog much the same as this space. Check it out.
