View the Aces’ full schedule with times here.
–NBC Sports listed UE guard D.J. Balentine among its freshmen “Names To Watch” in a blog post Wednesday. Wichita State’s Fred Van Vleet also represented the MVC.
–Marty Simmons is a coach who values relationships. Jaylon Brown is a player who does the same, according to his high school coach. I wrote about the Fishers (Ind.) High School guard’s recruitment earlier on the blog.
–Here’s today’s print article on the UE baseball schedule released Tuesday, namely how future schedules will change once Dallas Baptist enters the MVC for the 2014 season.
–The UE men’s soccer team will give free admission to breast cancer survivors and sport pink jerseys during Saturday’s game against Marshall for its “Kick for the Cure” night. A silent auction with soccer memorabilia will also be held to benefit Greater Evansville Susan G. Komen Foundation.
–Cross country runner Kelby Jenkins was named the MVC’s Scholar Athlete of the Week along with Brian Dixon of Southern Illinois. The honor comes a day after the school tabbed her its Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week and a week after Jenkins won a Heritage Federal Credit Union scholarship at UE’s student-athlete awards breakfast.
