–Basketball practice officially begins tomorrow, thanks to the new NCAA rule where practice can begin six weeks before the first game (instead of four weeks).
–The men’s and women’s swimming teams are holding intrasquad meets today in preparation for their upcoming season.
–Kansas City Royals third baseman Jamey Carroll, brother of UE baseball coach Wes Carroll, reached a career milestone last night. Carroll reached 1,000 career hits last night after going 1-for-3 in a win against the White Sox. Carroll has been sitting at 999 hits for a couple of weeks.
